You have the dress, you have the shoes, the veil, the jewels, your Grandmother's handkerchief...now...what else is there? Don't forget the pre-game outfit! Many of our brides ask us the question...what to wear when getting ready on the wedding day??? There are a few rules to remember for your bride and bridesmaids robes:
First and foremost you want to be comfortable when getting ready for your big day. This is the moment when you get to be pampered. You will likely have hair and makeup stylists fussing over you throughout the day, so being comfortable is something to keep in mind. You will be standing up in those gorgeous 6" heels for the rest of the day, so wrap yourself in something soft and/or silky and enjoy your beautifully pedicured bare feet, or those rhinestone encrusted ballet slippers that you have had your eye on.

The way you look and feel is equally important as being comfortable. You want to choose something that is going to make you feel like a million dollars. Surrounding yourself in beauty on your wedding day will only build the anticipation and set the scene for the amazing day to come. Choose something that is fitted and makes you look and feel gorgeous. Especially if you are having your photographer capture some of these getting ready moments! These are some of the most beautiful moments of the day, so make sure that your robe or cover-up is going to compliment that glowing smile on your face.
Now, lingerie is stunning, but save these risque garments for the wedding night. Keep in mind that you may have people in and out of your bridal suite throughout the day...the photographers, the stylists, the room service attendant...the husband of the bridesmaid who forgot her shoes. You will want something that makes you feel sexy, but also keeps you covered so you will be comfortable if you have an unexpected visitor.
Once your hair and makeup is complete, the last thing that you will want to do is have to pull your clothes over your head, so opt for a robe that ties, a button down shirt or dress, or a slinky silk negligee or romper that you can simply step out of without disturbing your hair.
And don't forget your bridesmaids! Robes make an amazing bridesmaids gift and it does not hurt to color coordinate to ensure your girls feel pampered and pretty as well.
